Last Updated: 19 May 2025  |  Effective Date: 19 May 2025

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Denari website and the financial literacy programmes we offer. Please read them carefully before registering for any programme or using our website. By accessing the site or enrolling in a programme, you agree to these terms.

1. Definitions

The following terms are used throughout this document:

  • "Denari", "we", "us", "our" — refers to Denari, a financial literacy education provider registered in Malaysia, with its principal place of business at No. 23, Persiaran Multimedia, 63000 Cyberjaya, Selangor.
  • "User", "you", "participant" — any person who accesses our website or enrols in a Denari programme.
  • "Service" — the educational workshops, toolkit resources, community access, and literacy programmes offered by Denari.
  • "Content" — all text, materials, worksheets, guides, session recordings, and other resources made available through our programmes or website.
  • "Agreement" — these Terms & Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and any enrolment confirmation.
  • "Programme" — any specific educational offering for which a participant registers, including the Getting-Started Workshop, Newcomer Toolkit & Community, and Settling-In Literacy Programme.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using our website, submitting a contact form, or enrolling in any Denari programme, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Agreement.

You must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement in Malaysia. If you are enrolling on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

If you do not agree with any part of this Agreement, please do not use our website or enrol in our programmes.

3. Service Description

Denari provides general financial literacy education for newcomers and expatriates residing in or relocating to Malaysia. Our programmes are designed to help participants understand everyday money systems, financial habits, and settling-in processes through structured sessions, written materials, and peer community access.

Denari's programmes are educational in nature. They do not constitute financial advice, investment advice, legal advice, or any other form of regulated professional service. Participants are encouraged to seek appropriate professional guidance for personal financial decisions.

Programme availability, scheduling, and content may change from time to time. We will notify enrolled participants of any material changes affecting an active enrolment.

4. Enrolment & Accounts

Enrolment in a Denari programme is completed when we confirm your registration via email following receipt of payment. Confirmation constitutes acceptance of your enrolment and the terms set out here.

Where an online participant portal or community space is provided, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any login credentials. You agree not to share access with third parties. If you suspect unauthorised use of your account, please notify us immediately at [email protected].

Account details must be accurate. You agree to update your contact information if it changes during the course of a programme.

5. User Responsibilities

By using our website and participating in our programmes, you agree to:

  • Engage respectfully with Denari staff, facilitators, and other participants at all times
  • Use programme materials solely for personal, non-commercial learning purposes
  • Not record, reproduce, or redistribute session content without prior written consent from Denari
  • Not share access credentials or enrolment benefits with other parties
  • Not use our website or services to transmit spam, offensive content, or any material that is unlawful under Malaysian law
  • Not attempt to disrupt the functioning of our website, community platform, or any related systems
  • Comply with any community guidelines issued for group sessions or online forums

Denari reserves the right to remove any participant from a programme without refund if their conduct is found to be disruptive or harmful to other participants or to the integrity of the programme.

6. Intellectual Property

All content created and distributed by Denari — including worksheets, session slides, guides, checklists, community resources, and website content — is the property of Denari or its content contributors and is protected under Malaysian intellectual property law.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use programme materials for your own personal learning purposes during your active enrolment. This licence does not permit you to copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any Denari content without written permission.

Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you share with Denari may be used by us to improve our programmes without obligation to compensate you.

7. Payment Terms

All programme fees are quoted and payable in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Current programme fees are:

  • Getting-Started Workshop — RM 480
  • Newcomer Toolkit & Community — RM 1,480
  • Settling-In Literacy Programme — RM 4,100

Fees are due in full at the time of enrolment unless a payment arrangement has been agreed in writing. Accepted payment methods will be communicated at the point of enrolment.

Refund policy: Cancellations made at least 7 calendar days before a programme start date are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made fewer than 7 days before the start date are not eligible for a refund, though participants may request to transfer their enrolment to a future cohort, subject to availability. No refund is available once a programme has commenced. If Denari cancels a session or programme, participants will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to an alternative date.

Prices are subject to change. Participants enrolled under a quoted price will not be affected by subsequent price changes for the duration of their current programme.

8. Programme-Specific Terms

Attendance: Participants are expected to attend all scheduled sessions. Missed sessions may not always be made up; availability of recordings or catch-up materials varies by programme and will be communicated at enrolment.

Certificate of Attendance: The Settling-In Literacy Programme includes a certificate of attendance upon completion of the programme. Certificates are issued to participants who attend the required number of sessions as set out in the programme schedule. The certificate documents attendance at a general education programme and does not constitute a professional qualification, licence, or regulated certification of any kind.

Community Access: Participants in the Newcomer Toolkit & Community and Settling-In Literacy Programme receive access to our newcomer community space for the duration of their programme. Community access is personal and non-transferable. We reserve the right to moderate or restrict access for any participant who breaches our community guidelines.

Materials: Digital materials provided as part of a programme are for personal use only. Printed materials, where provided, remain the property of the participant after the programme ends.

9. Disclaimers

Denari's programmes are provided for general educational purposes only. All content is offered on an "as is" basis. While we take care to ensure materials are accurate and up to date, we make no representation that content will be free of errors or suitable for any particular purpose.

Nothing communicated during our programmes, sessions, or via our website constitutes financial advice, investment recommendations, legal counsel, or any other form of advice that would require a professional licence. Participants should consult appropriately qualified professionals for advice specific to their circumstances.

We do not guarantee any particular outcome from participation in our programmes. Individual results from applying general financial literacy knowledge vary and depend on many factors outside Denari's control.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, Denari's total liability to any participant for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or our programmes shall not exceed the total fees paid by that participant for the programme giving rise to the claim.

Denari shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, including loss of earnings, loss of opportunity, or loss of data, even if Denari has been advised of the possibility of such loss.

Denari is not liable for any failure to perform its obligations caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural events, disruptions to communications infrastructure, or public health restrictions.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Denari, its directors, employees, and contractors from any claims, losses, damages, or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of this Agreement, your use of our website or programmes in a manner not permitted by these terms, or your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights.

12. Termination

You may withdraw from a programme at any time, subject to the refund policy set out in Section 7. You may stop using our website at any time.

Denari may suspend or terminate your access to programmes or our website if you breach any provision of this Agreement, if we determine your conduct is harmful to other participants, or if we cease to offer a particular programme.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property rights, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution — will continue to apply after this Agreement ends.

13. Dispute Resolution

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from or relating to this Agreement shall first be addressed through good-faith informal discussions between the parties.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, the parties agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia, with Selangor as the preferred venue.

For consumer-related disputes, participants may also refer matters to the relevant Malaysian consumer protection authority under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 or the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia.

14. General Provisions

Entire agreement: This Agreement, together with any enrolment confirmation, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Denari regarding your use of our services and supersedes all prior discussions or agreements on the same subject matter.

Severability: If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.

Waiver: Denari's failure to enforce any provision of this Agreement on one occasion does not constitute a waiver of its right to enforce that provision in the future.

Assignment: You may not transfer your rights or obligations under this Agreement to a third party without Denari's prior written consent. Denari may assign its rights to a successor entity in connection with a business transfer.

Notices: Formal notices to Denari under this Agreement should be sent by email to [email protected] or by post to our registered address. Notices are deemed received on the next business day after sending.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. For participants currently enrolled in a programme, we will provide notice of material changes by email where reasonably practicable.

Continued use of our website or enrolment in a new programme after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree with updated terms, please do not continue using our website or enrol in further programmes.
